The Pros&Cons of a Summer Job

Happy summer everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying relaxation and no school-related stress! Today I'm writing about my personal experience with having a summer job and explaining the goods and bads! Quick disclaimer! I know that my experience wont be the same as a lot of others, especially because I'm a nanny but I think that most of these are apparent in most jobs.
​First lets do the cons.
​A BIG con right off the bat would definitely be that because I am a nanny I have a permanent schedule and its always early in the morning until almost dinner. This makes it very hard to plan things like sleepovers.
Another is not being able to sleep in late which is(for me) the most anticipated part of summer. Waking up early for me is very hard because I get migraines if I wake up before 10 so my normal routine is waking up at 8 which is not fun at all.
Next up, I think another appeal of summer is not having to stick with a routine and going wherever the wind takes you. But when you have a job you often find yourself in a routine, which is great but not exactly what summer is for.

​Now that we're done with the negative lets get to the positive.
​Obviously I have to mention the money. As a nanny I make more than minimum wage so that does have nice perks. I usually put more than half into college savings, so don't worry I'm responsible;).
​Another big plus is because I'm such a child-lover I have so much fun with my job! I love getting the chance to take care of kids almost every day and serve as somewhat of a role model for them while having a lot of fun with them.
Summer jobs also give you the reality that is adulthood. Let me explain, in most jobs for adults there is no summer. So by having a summer job it slightly gets you into that lifestyle.
